Change Requests

Create a Change Request

Change Requests enable your team to create changes to the budget without modifying the main budget directly.

This can be useful for multiple scenarios:

  • Collaborate on change requests with your team
  • Obtain approval from a lead estimator before modifying the main budget
  • Collaborate and receive approval from the client or design team regarding value engineering (VE) items
  • Group together similar line item changes or additions, such as in the case of budgeting an entire division at once

Change requests can be either Merged into the Main Budget or Closed.


To create a new change request, navigate to the Change Request tab and click "New Change Request".


Then, give the change request a title and an optional description.


Once your change request setup is complete, you will be directed to the Overview tab. The Overview will display all collaboration (comments, mentions, attachments) between team members surrounding the change request, as well as a change history of activities or edits made to the budget within the change request.


Click the Budget tab to make edits to your budget line items, markups, or measurements.

To view changes included in this request, click Changed Items. This tab will display all modified line items with their respective change amounts, and also provide a summary of changes to the direct cost, markups, and budget total.


Once your change request is ready to be merged into the main budget click "Merge into main budget".


Resolve Budget Conflicts

Change requests cannot be merged into the main budget if the main budget has changed since creating the change request. To resolve this, the change request will need to be updated with the latest version of the main budget.

To begin this process, click "Update with Main Budget". This option will only show when the change request is out of date with the main budget.

If the same line item has changed in both the main budget and the change request, this will result in a Conflict. To resolve these conflicts, select the version of the line item this change request should use.


Once conflicts are resolved, review any changes that will be applied to the change request and confirm.


Once the change request is updated with the main budget, the option to merge the change request into the main budget will be available.
