Buildr’s budgeting tool enables your team to create and collaborate on project budgets. The budgeting tool can be used as early as conceptual estimates all the way to a 100% budget.

Utilize the budget module to:

  • Build estimates
  • Collaborate with your team
  • View budget change history
  • Create milestones
  • Track target budgets
  • Reference historical budgets in the Cost Model.

Getting Started

To get started on a project budget, navigate to the project and select the Budget tab.

Next, you can either start the budget from scratch, or copy the budget from another project. If you select Copy from Another Project, Buildr will automatically pull all budget information (line items, markups, measurements, groups, etc) into your new budget.

If you would like to start the budget from scratch, select the option provided. You will be directed to the Main Budget page. The Main Budget refers to the current, active budget.

A budget is comprised of the following:

  • Summary: Summary of all costs, markups, measurements, target budget, and division totals
  • Line Items: All budget line items by division
  • Markups: Markup line items
  • Measurements: Gross Square Feet, Net Rentable Square Feet, Units, and additional measurements

On the left-hand side of the page, you can navigate to the following:

  • Change Requests: All open, merged, and closed change requests
  • Budget Comparison: Compare your project’s budget over time
  • Milestones: Budget milestones indicate a significant progress point of a budget, such as Design Development or Construction Documents
  • History: Change log of all budget modifications
  • Settings: Enable Cost Types, Sub Jobs, Groups
