Create metric types to easily categorize project measurements and perform budget calculations with Quantity Formulas.

Manage Metric Types

Metric Types can be configured in the account settings under Metric Types. To create a new metric type, enter the name into the field provided, and click Create. Metrictypes Pn

Add Budget Measurements

To add measurements to the project budget, navigate to the Measurements tab, and click Edit Budget. Next, click Add Measurement. Enter the measurement name, group (if relevant), metric, and amount. Next, you have the option to include the measurement in the measurement totals. Make your selection and click Create. Lastly, you can choose to save your changes directly to the main branch, or create a change request.

Utilizing Measurements in Quantity Formulas

Once your measurements are created, you can refer to the measurements in the Quantity Formulas tool. To utilize Quantity Formulas, navigate to a line item and click the fx option under Quantity. Next, you will be directed to the Quantity Formulas tool where you can build formulas to calculate the quantity of a line item. Begin by selecting a measurement. Next, enter an operator and number. Add the number to the formula, and your quantity will be calculated accordingly. Click Save Changes to apply your quantity. If the measurements of the project change, Buildr will automatically recalculate the estimate.
