Every project has significant preconstruction and construction dates that must be routinely tracked. To stay on top of deadlines and project commitments, Buildr enables you to build out your team's account calendar and project timelines with Project Events.

Account Calendar

The account calendar displays all project events and due dates. Stay on top of key deadlines and project commitments across all projects in your pipeline.

Apply quick filters to optimize your view and display the desired event types, such as:

• My Projects (Projects assigned to you)
• Bid Board (Bid due dates)
• Event Type (Filter by event type)

Create Project Event Types

To get started, navigate to Account Settings > Project Settings, and select Project Event Types. Here, you can modify your event types to include important milestones that will be applied to your project timelines.

Click "New Event Type," and enter the event name. Next, select a color to categorize your event. The event will be displayed with its corresponding color in the account calendar and project timelines. Click "Create."

Once your project events are created, your team can manage and apply these events to their project timelines.

Apply Project Events

To manage the project timeline, navigate to the Project Overview. Under Timeline, click "Add Event."

Next, select the event type from the dropdown list, enter the corresponding date with an optional time, and click "Save".

The event will populate in the project's timeline and the account-level calendar.

Edit Project Timeline

To edit events in the project timeline, click "Edit" and make your changes, then click "Save."

To remove an event from the project timeline, click "Edit." Next, click "Delete."

Convert Custom Date Fields into Project Events

If you are currently tracking project dates and events with custom fields, you can seamlessly convert them into project event types. The converted date fields will automatically populate in the Project Timeline, and the custom fields will be removed.

To begin, navigate to the account settings and select Custom Fields. Next, click the Project tab.

Here, you will see the banner: "You can convert custom fields with the date type to project events so they automatically show up in the timeline and on the calendar." Click "Select Fields to Convert."

Next, you can checkmark the fields you wish to convert into project events. Select a color to categorize your event, and click "Convert."

Your custom field values will then be converted into project events that are viewable in the Project Timeline (see below). The custom field(s) will be deleted.

Note: Project event types are not yet supported in saved views. If you have custom date fields that are currently being used in a saved view, they will not be converted.
